Paula Sibilia is an Argentine author and researcher living in Rio de Janeiro. Her work focuses on the study of contemporary culture through a genealogic perspective that examines the relationship between bodies, subjects, technologies and their manifestations in the arts and media.

 

She graduated both in Communications and in Anthropology at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), Argentina; once in Brazil, she continued with a master degree in Communications (UFF), a PhD in Collective Health (IMS-UERJ) and another PhD in Communication and Culture (ECO-UFRJ). Since 2006 she is professor at the Department of Cultural Studies and Media and at the Postgraduate Program in Communication of the Universidad Federal Fluminense (UFF).

 

Her research is supported by the agencies CNPq (Bolsa de Produtividade em Pesquisa, since 2009) and FAPERJ (Programa Jovem Cientista do Nosso Estado, 2010-2016; Cientista do Nosso Estado, 2018-2020). Besides, in 2012, she completed a postdoctoral degree at the Université Paris VIII, France, with a CAPES scholarship.
